2025-26 "Stroll along Tuen Mun" Theatre Project

About the Programme

"Stroll along Tuen Mun" will invite residents of Tuen Mun to share their stories about memorable people they've met here, and attempt to reconnect with these individuals. These emotional experiences will be transformed into theatrical stories, recreating various moments. We use the past as a mirror to reflect our own image anew, reorganize, and set off again.

Creators and participants will collect stories in Tuen Mun together, then reconstruct them through different artistic methods. Whether or not we can eventually find those friends, we can express and process our emotions through art.

About the Group

Théâtre de la Feuille, based in Hong Kong, China, was founded in 2010 by Ata WONG Chun-tat in Paris. Born out of the merging of Eastern traditions with Western theatre practices, the company is built upon deep engagement within its strong community of vigorous artists.

With its roots in the Chinese philosophy "Heaven, Earth, and Man", the company's ethos is based around a harmonious coexistence between humans, the celestial, and the terrestrial realms; absorbing this philosophy into its work, its process, and its artistic relationships. It aims to investigate the purity of the body, nurture the mind, and enrich the self. Fundamentally, Théâtre de la Feuille's practice is one of tenacious curiosity, creating work that binds audience to artist; reflecting humanity back onto itself.

The theatre combines Jacques Lecoq's Western performance methods with traditional Eastern arts to create diverse, high-quality productions, including "Book of Mountains and Seas — The Fates of Mountains and Rivers",
"Fall and Flow", "What You See is not You", "#1314", "The Lost Adults", "Mad Man", "Papa", and "L' Orphelin". Among these, "Fall and Flow" won the Best Production Award at the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe Festival Asian Arts Award.

Having undertaken extensive tours in several countries across Europe, America, and Asia, its current emphasis is on expanding its tour repertoire and opportunities for artistic cultural exchange.

The theatre has completed over 100 stops and 250 performances to date, with footprints across different cities including the United Kingdom, United States, France, Italy, Croatia, Japan, South Korea, and mainland China.

Since 2021-22, the arts group has also participated in the "18dART — North District Community Arts Scheme".

Programmes conducted in Cantonese.

All activities of the scheme are free of charge.
